ARTIAN WEAPONS

Description

Artian Weapons are special weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds that cannot be obtained through the regular Forge/Upgrade Weapon menu. Instead have their own Forge/Upgrade Artian Weapons menu, which includes Forge Artian Weapons, Reinforce Artian Weapons and Dismantle. As of Title Update 4 we now also have Upgrade to Gogma Artian Weapons and Reinforce Gogma Artian Weapons! They do not use any regular Monster materials, but instead are forged by using 3 of the same Rarity appraised Weapon Shards/Fragments, which 3 vary based on the Weapon type. This allows them to be much more varied in stats than regular weapons.

How To Get Weapon Shards/Fragments

Tempered Monsters

“If you collect enough Artian Parts, you will be able to forge Artian Weapons at the Smithy. Take on tempered monsters to collect what you need.”

In general the appraisable Weapon Shards/Fragments come exclusively from Tempered Monsters, with a few exceptions. They are divided into 3 types based on the threat or tier of the Tempered Monster and come from the rewards, see the table below for more details.

Weapon Shards are automatically appraised like Talismans and Decorations after a quest from the rewards page. Once appraised, they become 1 of 4 Artian material categories below.

Melding Relics

All 3 of the Weapon Shard/Fragment types, as well as all 4 Old Weapon Shard types can be obtained via the Melding Pot in Suja under the Meld Relics menu. The facility uses your Artian Materials, Bloodstones, and Tickets to create them.

Production Bonuses

Each Artian Material has both an Element Type (Which is either an Element or Ailment) and an Artian Bonus. Elements include: Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice and Dragon. Ailments include: Poison, Paralysis, Sleep, and Blast.

If 2 or more Materials have the same Element Type, the forged weapon will have the Elemental or Ailment damage of that type. If all 3 Element Type match, this grants an Element Infusion bonus.

Artian Bonuses provide either +5 Attack or +5% Affinity.

Reinforcements use Zenny and specific Azuz Ores using a point system. Each reinforcement grants a random bonus.

Reinforcement Bonuses

“Artian weapons can be Reinforced up to five times.”

When reinforcing an Artian Weapon, each reinforcement grants one random Bonus chosen from the following pool: Attack, Affinity, Element or Sharpness/Ammo (Capacity).

The bonuses from Attack Boost and Affinity Boost are consistantly the same throughout all weapon types.

Element Boost depends on weapon type and cannot appear on Non-Elemental weapons, Poison, Paralysis, or Sleep Bows and also both the Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun weapons.

Sharpness Boost adds a flat amount of White Sharpness and removes that amount from your Red Sharpness. It can only be rolled a max of twice on any one weapon. Additionally it is only available to melee weapons. At level 1 Insect Glaive gets less sharpness than any other weapon, but matches them at EX (level 2).

Capacity Boost adds +1 Capacity and is exclusive to Bowguns. It stacks with itself but had lowered effects for certain Ammo Types (further investigation required)

Base Artian Weapons can only roll with the Level 1 version of any of the 4 bonuses. Gogma Artian Weapons never roll with the Level 1 version bonuses, with the exception of Sharpness/Ammo Boost (Capacity Boost). Please see the table below for a full breakdown of each Weapons Bonuses, as some differ to others.
